‘It speaks to a heart level,’ Stan Jantz said about translation efforts of ‘The Chosen’

According to the Come and See Foundation, the hit series The Chosen has just hit a notable milestone with being translated into more than 50 languages.

The Deseret News reports that the foundation has set a goal of translating the program into more than 600 different languages so that people across the globe can watch it in their own language. Among the languages that The Chosen has been translated or dubbed are Swedish, Slovak, Romanian, Punjabi, Malagasy, Korean, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Greek and Czech.

Stan Jantz is the CEO of the Come and See Foundation uses the term “heart language” when speaking of the translation effort. Jantz clarifies that when translating the show, it’s essential that “the translations have the same meaning.”

This means that the meaning of the show is preserved and localized because viewers hear it in the language they speak.

As the foundation presses on toward its goal of translating The Chosen into 600 languages, it asks for continued prayers for its efforts to reach ever greater numbers of people.

The foundation asks that supporters, “Pray for Come & See as it provides the resources, technology, ministry connections and expertise to further translation of ‘The Chosen’ into 600 heart languages.”
