‘Coming move of God’: 2,000 baptized during ‘Jesus Revolution’ baptism at California beach

An estimated 2,000 people were baptized at the second annual Jesus Revolution mass baptism at a California beach last week.

The Christian Post reports that Evangelist Greg Laurie’s Harvest Ministries hosted the event at Pirate’s Cove Beach in Corona Del Mar with nearly 70 pastors and other church leaders participating. Laurie said that the baptisms took place a week after the 2024 Harvest Crusade at Angel Stadium, “where individuals who made a profession of faith were invited to participate.”

The Evangelist added that all the participants were walked through the significance of baptism and what it represents. Those baptized at Pirate’s Cove Beach each received a New Believer’s Bible and were personally invited to one of the many partnering churches.

According to the Christian Post, Laurie said the newly baptized were also invited to join the Harvest Discipleship online community which offers numerous resources to help them grow in their faith.

Laurie believes that the 6,500 baptisms that have taken place at Pirate’s Cove Beach over the past 12 months, “may be indicative of a coming move of God that will sweep our land.”

Laurie added: “It is worth noting that all of this has happened in Southern California,” referring to the 1970s revival event. This is where the last great spiritual awakening, known as the Jesus Revolution, happened before. As a matter of fact, Pirate’s Cove Beach was the exact location of the mass baptisms that took place over 50 years ago during that movement.”

The 2023 movie “Jesus Revolution,” documented the 1970s revival, and Laurie believes it may be what inspired so many people to come to Pirate’s Cove Beach to be baptized over the past year.
