‘Amazing,’ ‘Not What I Was Expecting’—Tim Allen Shares He’s Reading the Bible

Wisecracking Hollywood actor Tim Allen says he’s “looking for answers to life’s big questions” and has been reading the Bible, which he calls “amazing.”

Church Leaders reports that Allen, who has starred in a number of successful films and TV shows, shared a tweet earlier this week saying that he was finally reading the Bible for the first time.

In the now viral tweet, Allen says: “Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the Bible. Currently almost through the Jerusalem Bible Old Testament and almost done with the Prophets. Next up to New Testament. So far amazing and not at all what I was expecting.”

Allen’s announcement drew immediate support from a number of notable Christians like Greg Laurie who encouraged him to continue his study.

Laurie wrote: “That’s fantastic, Tim! The Bible is God’s very word to each of us. The message of the Bible is really how we can come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.”

The 71 year old actor is best known for his roles as Tim “the Tool Man: Taylor on Home Improvement and for voicing the character of Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story movie franchise.
