‘Dilbert’ creator Scott Adams announces plan to convert to Christianity before he dies

Scott Adams, creator of the nationally syndicated “Dilbert” comic strip, has announced that he plans to convert to Christianity as he faces a diagnosis of terminal prostate cancer.

The Christian Post reports that, in the Jan. 4 episode of the “Real Coffee with Scott Adams” podcast, Adams disclosed his intention to embrace Christianity, saying that he hopes he would “wake up in Heaven if I have a good life.”

Adams, who was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in May 2025, explained that his chance of recover are “essentially zero.”

The 68-year-old cartoonist has long identified as a non-believer but stated, I also have respect for any Christian who goes out of their way to try to convert me, because how would I believe you wouldn’t believe your own religion if you’re not trying to convert me?”

According to the Christian Post, Adams added that “out of great respect” for those efforts that he is committed to converting before his death and that he expects to have his lingering skepticism “instantly answered if I wake up in Heaven.”

Adams has received an outpouring of support since the announcement on his podcast but has also established boundaries on further discussion, telling supporters,  “I appreciate the outpouring of suggestions and questions, but what happens next is between me and Jesus.”

The cartoonist’s health struggles have received national attention, including intervention from President Donald Trump who helped Adams by expediting treatment with the FDA-approved drug Pluvicto after Adam’s provider, “dropped the ball” in scheduling the treatment.
