Oklahoma school district under scrutiny for multiple toe-licking videos: ‘Truly horrifying’

An Oklahoma school district has come under fire after multiple videos have surfaced showing students licking feet and other body parts during fundraisers. The Christian Post reports that students at Edmond North and Edmond Memorial high schools were shown licking chocolate, peanut butter and other condiments from feet and armpits in the footage.

The most recent incident occurred in 2020 but footage going back to 2015 has also come to light. The activities were part of Balto Week at Edmond North and Swine Week at Edmond Memorial.

School administrators told the Christian Post that the licking took place years ago and that they were proud of their fundraising efforts.

A spokesman for the district stated: “EPS school administrators, just like our surrounding districts, work with student council sponsors to make these weeks as impactful as possible. Through their efforts over many months, metro area high school students learn countless life lessons on how to make a positive difference in their community.”

The videos mark the second time toe-licking antics have gone viral in Edmond Public Schools. Last week footage of students licking adults feet and toes emerged from Deer Creek High School. That incident has prompted an investigation by Oklahoma authorities.

Oklahoma State School Superintendent Ryan Walters called the activities “incredibly inappropriate” and stating that such a practice “does not align with Oklahoma values.” Walters pledged to put an end to such activities and added that the adults who approved the licking of feet have placed their students, “in disgusting, degrading conditions.”
