Planned Parenthood provided fewer health services despite record gov’t funding: annual report

The latest annual report for Planned Parenthood shows the organization received nearly $700 million in government grants and reimbursements and performed over 390,000 abortions.

According to the Christian Post, the data reported for 2022-2023 shows that Planned Parenthood is more focused on providing abortions than on providing other health services. The annual report indicates that the organization performed 392, 715 abortions while providing less than 2,000 adoption referrals and performing 30,000 fewer Pap tests than the previous year’s report.

The report also shows that preventative care visits were down by more than 30%.

The Christian Post reports that despite the decline in health services, Planned Parenthood’s funding through government grants and reimbursements went up by nearly $30 million.

Michael New, a pro-life scholar at the Busch School of Business at the Catholic University of America noted that the report is solid evidence that Planned Parenthood prioritizes abortion.

New stated in an analysis published by National Review,

Between 2022 and 2023, preventive-care visits fell by 31.0 percent, pap tests fell by 13.5 percent, cancer screenings fell by 1.4 percent, and adoption referrals fell by 4.5 percent. All of this is consistent with Planned Parenthood’s long-term trend of performing more abortions and providing fewer health services. In fact, in the past ten years, the number of abortions performed by Planned Parenthood has increased by 20 percent.”

Marjorie Dannenfelser who is the president of the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America organization stated that Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report shows that its “business is abortion, abortion and more abortion.”
