Poll: Over 25% of Gen Z Identify as LGBTQ

A poll released this week by the Public Religion Research Institute claims that more than 1 in 4 Americans born between 1997 and 2012 identify as LGBTQ.

According to The Daily Caller, the poll questioned more than 6,000 Gen Z participants between the ages of 13 and 25. Of those surveyed, 28% said they identified as LGBTQ, compared to just 16% of millennials, 7% of Gen X and 4% of Baby Boomers.

American Greatness reports that the disparity between the generations appears to confirm that the trend is based in social factors rather than in biology or science.

The poll also found significant differences in political ideology with 43% of Gen Z respondents identifying as “liberal” and 31% identified as Democrats, 30% as Independents and 21% as Republicans. The differences also carry over into religious affiliations with 33% of Gen Z respondents claiming “non-religious” status.

Of those members of Gen Z who claimed to be religious, only 38% indicated that they were likely to attend church services.

According to American Greatness, the poll’s findings seem to suggest that Gen Z has been more heavily influenced by social media than previous generations. Big Tech companies have heavily promoted far-left values including LGBTQ advocacy and other liberal causes.
