Pro-Palestinian Protesters Clash with Riot Police as They Breach White House Gate

A pro-Palestinian protest at the White House on Saturday saw protestors clash with police and Secret Service agents as activists breached an exterior gate and hurled bottles and sticks at officers.

The Secret Service confirmed that non-essential personnel were evacuated as a precaution as the protest grew aggressive.

Protestors shooks and some attempted to scale the reinforced gate that had been added as an extra security measure, in front of the primary White House gate. Participants in the protest chanted and some threw bottles and other objects over the fence as seen in video footage of the event.

The U.S. Secret Service said that a portion of the anti-scale fencing erected for the event was damaged but was promptly repaired.

In a statement to Fox News, the Secret Service said:

“As a precaution, some members of the media and staff in proximity to Pennsylvania Avenue were temporarily relocated while the issue was being addressed. The Secret Service made no arrests associated with the march and there was no property damage to the White House or adjacent buildings.”

In addition to calling for an end to Israeli military action in Gaza, protestors also voiced anger over U.S. missile strikes of numerous targets in Yemen in response to Houthi drone and missile attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea.
