Samuel Rodríguez: ‘The battle isn’t political, it’s spiritual’
March 10, 2025
Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, who heads the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, told the National Religious Broadcasters’ International Christian Media Convention that the struggle society facing is a spiritual one between “light and darkness, between truth and relativism.”
According to the Christian Post, Rodriguez drew upon scriptural passages such as Ephesians 6 and Colossians 2:15 to demonstrate that the real battle is more spiritual than political.
Rodriguez also warned the Christian community to stand firm on biblical truth and not to fall into complacency or to become too attached to comfort, saying “complacency today is captivity tomorrow.”
The pastor spoke of the importance of protecting younger generations from cultural and educational influences that go against God’s designs, saying, “If the enemy does not manage to catch our children in the womb, he will try to do so in the classrooms, on social media and in culture.”
The Christian Post reports that Rodriguez called for using emerging technologies to spread the Gospel message and encouraged believers to create content based on biblical truth to reach out to those who are hungry for truth.
Rodriguez issued a call to action, saying, “If we want to fulfill the Great Commission, we cannot remain silent,” as he urged Christians to lift their voices to influence all aspects of society with the Gospel message.
He reminded attendees that staying silent is not an option and told them, “We are facing a generation hungry for truth. We will not give up, we will not bow down, and even if it is politically incorrect, we will stand firm in the name of Jesus.”
